The Barunga Festival offers a variety of activities for locals and visitors alike.
Music, dance, arts & crafts demonstrations, exhibitions and sales, weaving
workshops, bush walks, didjeridu competitions and demonstrations, storytelling,
kids activities and a film night are all part of the Festival Program.Whilst
music is a highlight of the Festival program including a Battle-of-the-Bands and
a feature concert showcasing some of the Territory’s finest talents, there is
plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy. A traditional dance (bungul)
competition with performers from across the Territory, arts and crafts
demonstrations, exhibitions and sales, bush tucker tasting, bush walks, spear
throwing, story-telling, kids activities and a film night are all included in the
Festival Program. A full sports program also runs throughout the weekend.
During the festival, camping is permitted within the community. Held at the
Burunga Community,Queen’s Birthday long weekend. |
