The Guluyambi Cruise is an exceptional Aboriginal Cultural & Scenic experience on one of Kakadu National Park’s most spectacular waterways, the East Alligator River. The river forms the border between the World Heritage "Kakadu National Park" and Arnhemland. The cruise occurs on the transition waters where tidal waters dramatically meet the towering ArnhemLand sand stone escarpment country and the vast flood plains begin.

Aboriginal guides provide guests with an insight into local Aboriginal mythology, the river’s abundant food chain, traditional uses for many plants and animals as well as bush survival skills required for this wilderness environment.

25-seat boats are used, ensuring guests a unique and personnel experience where they can view breath-taking scenery and the abundant wildlife inhabiting the river environment. Count the crocodiles!

Guluyambi Cruises is 100% owned by the Djabulukgu Association, its members are the Aboriginal Traditional Owners of land in Northern Kakadu and Western Arnhem Land. A board of up to twelve members governs the Association. Historically the chairpersons role and function has been shared amongst the members including women. The current chairperson is Jacob Nayinggul the senior Manilagarr clansman.

Directions: The cruise departs from the upstream boat ramp at the East Alligator River situated approximatley 40km north of the township of Jabiru. Drop into the Border Store, at East Alligator, for directions and or follow the signs.

Note the Bowali Visitor Centre situated near Jabiru can also assit to provide directions.
