In 1869 George Goyder surveys Darwin for the S.A. government and begins the establishmnent of the city initially called Palmerston.

A re-enactment to commemorate the arrival of the Surveyor General G.W. Goyder in Darwin on 5th February 1869. See George Goyder and his party come ashore on the tide. Hear the full story of the achievements of the survey party over 8months. Listen as George Goyder explains how surveying was done in 1869.

Refreshments will be available.

To commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin, the Chief Minister and the Lord Mayor are hosting a black-tie ball at the Darwin Convention Centre on Saturday 18 February 2012.

From 6.30pm, the ball will have a 1940s theme, with live bands and entertainment. Mr. Ray Martin will be MC on the night.

Tickets are $170 per person, $140 for seniors.

 Tables for 10 are available to purchase at $1500.

To Commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin the Deckchair Cinema is hosting 'Frontline Australia 1942' at 3.30pm nad 'The Overlanders' at 5.30pm at the Birch, Carroll and Coyle Cinema in Darwin city.

Adult: $15 - Flexi Pass available for both films.
