Retail and Businesses
Darwin and the Top End Region offers some unique opportunities for shopping. Whether you are on the lookout for an example of original Aboriginal art, a traditionally decorated didjeridoo, an exquiste piece of hand-crafted jewellery, or some other souvenir of your visit, you are sure to find something to appeal in the range and quality of goods available in the shops and galleries.
Check out the stores and arts and crafts galleries, enjoy the relaxed alfresco-style of the City Mall in Smith Street, or take a trip out to Parap Shopping Village.
For the serious shopper, Casuarina Square, the largest shopping centre in the Territory, boasts over 180 retail stores and two major department stores. A free bus service from the city to Casuarina Square is available with pick-up from all major hotels on the hour. Check with your hotel reception for details.
Excellent shopping facilities are also available out of town at Karama in the Northern suburbs, and at Palmerston where visitors have a choice of two major shopping centres.
