Digital Marketing Assistant (part-time)

6 months, fixed-term contract

About Tourism Top End

Tourism Top End (TTE) is the peak Tourism Association in the Top End of Australia's Northern Territory and has been representing the interests of the Tourism Industry since 1973. Tourism Top End is a non-profit Incorporated Association committed to the growth of Tourism in the Northern Territory. The Top End region covers the City of Darwin, Outer Darwin, Kakadu National Park, Litchfield National Park/Coomalie Region, Cox Peninsula, Nitmiluk National Park/Katherine Region, Tiwi Islands, Mary River, Daly River, Cobourg Peninsula, Gove Peninsula, Arnhem Land and Victoria River District. 

Purpose of this Role

The Digital Marketing Assistant role is to assist the Manager - Marketing & Events in delivering the Associations multi-disciplined marketing plan, aligned with the the strategic plan. As an experienced marketer with skills across the spectrum of digital marketing the role is in delivering the digital strategy including content creation, development of websites, direct email and social marketing.

Reporting to the Manager - Marketing & Events, you’ll support the TTE’s digital strategy for consumer, membership and industry services to contribute to the Top End’s visitor economy. The role plays an important part in the Association’s advocacy strategic focus by ensuring messaging is across the relevant channels, sharing appropriate articles and in a well-considered voice.

This role will at times be asked to undertake other marketing and event support activities as required.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting delivery of fully integrated digital marketing strategies across ‘TTE’s consumer, membership and industry services activities
  • Performance optimisation for ‘TTE’s websites including copywriting and search engine optimisation
  • Develop and execute email marketing strategies for consumer and industry including analysing performance and making recommendations to improve deliverability, open rates, click-through rates and conversion
  • Supporting administration of a customer relationship management (CRM) system including segmentation, personalisation and maintain data hygiene
  • Measure and report on performance of all paid digital activity with a focus on Facebook, Instagram and Google AdWords
  • Strategic oversight and analysis of the organic social media activity and community management
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies and maintain knowledge of digital landscape, continuously working to improve knowledge of best practice, trends and apply to the Association where relevant
  • Ensure brand alignment and integration of the customer journey online
  • Support the organisation’s social media policy and response during critical incidents and crisis
  • Develop and maintain effective collaborative partnerships with media, industry, stakeholders and Government, at a local and national level
  • Assist with preparing briefings and correspondence, including campaign briefs and service agreements

Specific Skill Requirements

  • You will have an expert understanding of new and existing digital content delivery methods including SEO, digital advertising, and social media
  • You will be able to demonstrate your ability to turn insights and data into delivering and reporting on effective digital campaigns, website management and social media engagement specifically with Google Analytics and FB Business Manager
  • You will have outstanding communication skills with high attention to detail. You must have ability to write, edit and proof-read copy
  • You will have excellent IT skills and ideally have experience in the use of content management systems such as, WordPress, HTML, Mailchimp
  • You will be a pro at managing agency relationships and convey brand strategies and plan
  • You will be a key contributor to the business goals, have a willingness to be in it together and find solutions for all. You are also open to opportunities outside of job scope as the business evolves and have the ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to understand the business needs of members and assist with the digital connectivity needs

  • Demonstrated time management, prioritisation and attention to detail skills
  • You will be proficient with Microsoft and Adobe Suites, and possess a strong business acumen
  • A strong focus on planning and execution, and be highly organised
  • The ideal candidate would have experience in a similar role within a tourism business or association, or be willing to learn and display passion for both tourism and the region
  • Commercial acumen and ability to understand the Association’s not-for-profit model and its role with current and potential stakeholders
  • Monitor market trends, competitors and current/potential partners
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required
  • Ability to travel Intra-Territory is essential
  • Unrestricted drivers license an advantage
