Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service Darwin Tourist Facility - Two Iconic Territory Stories in One Iconic Location. The Royal Flying Doctor Service, affectionately known throughout Australia as the RFDS. The Bombing of Darwin Harbour on 19th February 1942, brought destruction to the city of Darwin. See, experience & learn through the wonders of technology as this facility brings history to life

This exciting world-class facility features never seen before cutting edge technology – holograms, virtual reality and a projection window of the Japanese air attack on the harbour. Additionally, a decommissioned RFDS Pilatus PC 12 aircraft, completely aero medically equipped, will be accessible to the public as well as a life-sized replica Japanese Zero aircraft suspended from the ceiling.

Darwin Military Museum

Let us reveal the truth of the 64 Japanese raids that took place on Darwin over almost 2 years. Discover how these raids were kept a secret from the Australian population and have now been made public. Located at picturesque East Point Reserve, just 10 minutes drive from the city centre, this unique collection of artillery is housed in the original concrete bunker used by the army to plan the strategy for the wartime defence of Australia's northern shores.
Also includes a video showing dramatic footage of Darwin being bombed during WWII.

Darwin Aviation Museum

The Darwin Aviation Museum is one of the major aviation museums in Australia. The Centre has an impressive presentation of aircraft and displays depicting the Territory's involvement in aviation, both civil and military, from the early pioneers and record breakers through World War II and the jet age. The major display item is a massive B-52 bomber on permanent loan from the United States Air Force and is one of only two on public display in the world outside the USA.

WWII Oil Storage Tunnels

Kitchener Drive, Wharf Precinct Darwin NT 0800

Unique Darwin tourist attraction featuring World War II history. The World War II Oil Storage Tunnels located on Kitchener Drive at the wharf were constructed during World War II by the Civil Construction Corps to protect the Darwin's oil supplies from the Japanese. Today the tunnels, an engineering feat in themselves, house a collection of photographs of Allied wartime activity in the Top End. This is an attraction with a difference.

Terms & conditions

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for cancellations. Cancellations made within 24 hours of check in time forfeit the full amount for the first night cancelled.

Customers may purchase a ticket and it will remain valid for 30 days from date of purchase.

Cancellations after booking confirmation for non Territory Voucher bookings will attract a 12.5% administration fee.
TERRITORY VOUCHER PROMOTION: The Territory voucher is not refundable, transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
AMENDMENTS: An amendment fee of $25.00 will be charged per itinerary change.
CANCELLATIONS: Cancellation of bookings made using the Territory Tourism Voucher will incur a 10% administration fee calculated on the total booking cost. Operator cancellation fees are in addition to Tourism Top End's cancellation fee.
INSURANCE: Customers may wish to consider purchasing appropriate travel insurance to cover cancellation and amendment fees.
CREDIT CARD FEES: Credit card fees are not refundable.
REFUNDS: If you are entitled to a refund, it will be processed as quickly as possible. This is generally within 14 days, however, in some circumstances, it may take longer.
