Our Yoi is our Dreaming. It comes from our Ancestors and our Country. Yoi also means to dance. We dance shark, we dance crocodile ... because that’s who we are.
Yoi means the songs we sing with that dance and the time when we come together - to sing and to dance our Dreaming – our Yoi.
Join Tiwi Strong Women’s Group for an evening of song, stories, dance and laughter as we celebrate the traditions and the grooves of the Tiwi Islands – past and present. Along with our Sydney band and introducing some young hip Tiwi performers.
