Darwin is the Northern Territory’s multicultural capital, famed for its markets and festivals, Asian cuisine and beautiful natural harbour. It is also the perfect base from which to explore the natural treasures of World Heritage-Listed Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks as well as the Tiwi Islands, Nitmiluk National Park and Arnhem Land.

The Northern Territory is vast. Occupying about one sixth of Australia's total land mass, its boundaries encompass a variety of contrasting landscapes and experiences, best tackled by exploring a few key destinations - each with their own distinct personality, we urge you to experience the wonders of our region.

Kakadu National Park:

Distance: Approximately 250 km from Darwin.
Driving Time: Approximately 3 to 4 hours, depending on road conditions and stops.
Litchfield National Park:

Distance: About 100 km from Darwin.
Driving Time: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Nitmiluk National Park (Katherine Gorge):

Distance: About 320 km from Darwin.
Driving Time: Approximately 3.5 to 4.5 hours.
Elsey National Park:

Distance: About 380 km from Darwin, near Mataranka.
Driving Time: Approximately 4 to 5 hours.
For summary, Litchfield National Park is Ideal for a one-day self-drive. While Kakadu, Nitmiluk, and Elsey National Parks are more enjoyable with an overnight stay. If you would rather sit back and enjoy the sites of our beautiful landscapes why not jump on a tour?

he Top End has two seasons; The Dry Season (May to October) and a Tropical Summer (November to April). The Dry season brings lower humidity levels, making it the perfect weather for outdoor activities and exploring the many attractions of the Top End region. The Tropical Summer brings monsoonal rains during late afternoon or overnight. During this period flooding can occur which can restrict access to some parts of the region. While weather conditions at this time of year can restrict travel to some areas, the Wet season is a stunning time to see the Top End. Waterfalls tumble, skies host incredible light shows and the landscape turns a lush green.

Tours and attractions operate year-round within the Top End. However, due to restricted road access, some destinations can close seasonally between December and May.

Fishing in the Northern Territory is excellent all year round and while barramundi are most active from March to May, anglers can fish successfully at any time for a range of species. The northern regions of the Territory are also home to an array of other great sport and reef fish, including giant trevally (GT), queenfish, Spanish mackerel, cobia, black jewfish, golden snapper, red emperor, coral trout, marlin and sailfish.

A 30% deposit is required on booking and full payment is required to secure the booking. Please be aware that for certain bookings full payment is required up front. This can be confirmed with your consultant before payment is processed.

During our Dry Season May – October the Top End’s tours, attractions and accommodation can often book out. We would recommend booking close to the beginning of the year or as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

We require you to provide all passenger names, ages, medical and dietary requirements, we also require pick-up and drop off points. This information is then passed onto the tour company you have been booked onto. This is so they can make sure that they can cater to your needs through-out the tour.
