HOT AUGUST NIGHTS

There’s no better time to visit the tropical Top End than during Darwin Festival each August, where a fabulous festival wonderland awaits you. Balmy nights under twinkling lights provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable dry season – known elsewhere in Australia simply as ‘winter’.

Darwin Festival combines warm outdoor festivities with a program rich with local, national and international talent. Cabaret, theatre, dance, visual arts, outdoor concerts under the stars and fun family events transform Darwin for 18 dazzling days and nights.

Relax in the balmy festoon-lit surrounds of Festival Park with a tasty dinner and drink from the iconic bamboo food stalls and pop-up bars as you listen to the soundtrack of local heroes on the Bamboo Bandstand. Or prepare to dance the night away to the hottest contemporary bands in the Festival’s iconic open-air big top, The Lighthouse. Glimmering with lights and sounds, The Lighthouse is one of the hottest tickets in town each August.

Darwin Festival celebrates the quintessential spirit and energy of Darwin, with its laidback, friendly lifestyle. Join in the fun of hot August nights and spend a tropical winter at Darwin Festival!
